Goldman Sachs says in a statement that certain members of the former Malaysian government and 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) lied to the investment bank, outside counsel and others about the use of proceeds from these transactions, Agence-Frace Presse reports. Malaysia filed criminal charges on Monday against Goldman Sachs over its dealings with a state investment fund at the heart of a multibillion-dollar corruption scandal. The case relates to bond sales that Goldman Sachs arranged and underwrote for 1MDB in 2012 and 2013, according to CNN.  Its shares fell, plumbing to new lows for 2018, as the money laundering probe took a more serious turn for the firm.
