Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia agree to operate 'one journey-three destinations' tours

Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia have agreed to step up tourism cooperation by launching “one journey-three destinations” tours. At the 43rd ASEAN Summit being held in Jakarta, Indonesia, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet agreed that strengthening tourism cooperation between their three countries is imperative. They agreed to work together to exploit their cultural and culinary potential and promote tourism cooperation. “One journey, three destinations” tours have been jointly organized by many localities in Vietnam in the last few years. For instance, since 2017 Ho Chi Minh City has collaborated with the provinces of Long An, Tien Giang and Dong Thap in the Mekong Delta for such packages. In 2022 Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa, central provinces with beautiful beaches, adopted the same model to attract tourists from Northeast Asia. Intra-Southeast Asian travel is visa-free for citizens of ASEAN member countries. Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia are home to UNESCO heritage sites, ancient Buddhist pagodas and colonial heritages. On July 1 Vietnam Airlines restarted its thrice-weekly Hanoi-Luang Prabang-Siem Reap service.
