Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to kill corrupt police, including those accused of involvement in illegal drugs and other crimes, in an expletives-laden encounter on live television, South China Moring Post reports. On the same day Philippine authorities seized some 500 kilograms (1,102 pounds) of shabu worth 3.4 billion pesos ($64 million), making it one of the largest drug confiscations in the country’s history, amid a violent and controversial anti-drug war unleashed by Duterte, according to News 4 Europe. Last month two mayors and one vice mayor were shot dead in separate incidents, including one Duterte said may have had links to illegal drugs. The latest attack brought to 15 the number of mayors and vice mayors killed since Duterte unleashed his deadly anti-narcotics campaign.
