Southeast Asia’s largest ride-hailing group plans to take its mobile payments service into Cambodia and Myanmar as it expands its range of businesses throughout ASEAN countries, according to a senior executive, Nikkei Asian Review reports. The move followed Grab’s announcement earlier this month of a strategic partnership with Thai lender Kasikornbank (KBank) to offer its mobile wallet GrabPay and other financial services in Thailand by early next year. Meanwhile, Grab’s main rival in the region, Indonesia’s first unicorn startup Go-Jek, will “within the coming weeks”,  start piloting its service in Singapore, challenging main rival Grab on its home turf.  Singapore will be Go-Jek’s second overseas market, following the launch of operations in Vietnam in September, through local partner Go-Viet.
