Myanmar security forces have carried out “well organized, coordinated and systematic” attacks aimed at preventing members of the Rohingya ethnic group from returning, the UN Human Rights office said in a report on Wednesday. The revelation is in line with a concern raised by Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh who were sceptical about their chances of ever going home to Myanmar, even though the government there has given an assurance it would accept people verified as refugees. Amid international accusations that Myanmar’s military is engaging in “ethnic cleansing” of the Rohingya Muslim minority, Facebook designated a Rohingya insurgent group a “dangerous organization” and ordered moderators to delete any content “by or praising” it.
