THE appeal of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to ease quarantine restrictions on places of worship has raised hope for leaders of different church ministries. Willy Lasac of the Worldwide Soul Winners said Marcos “is God’s instrument to help make the church stronger during this difficult and uncertain time.”

“We really appreciate your heart, Sen. Bongbong Marcos for putting yourself in our place and trying to keep in mind our wellbeing, physically, socially and mentally,” he said in a statement. The Cenacle Harvest Ministries said Marcos’ understanding of their predicament was a “manifestation he was raised in a God-fearing home.”

“At this point in time, we are holding on to our faith alone to cheer us up and not to be consumed by fear, insecurity and anxiety,” the ministry said in a separate statement.
