Former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak on Monday was arrested by the country’s anti-graft agency over alleged “tampering” of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) audit report, The Star reports. He was arrested after arriving at the Malaysia Anti- Corruption Commission for a fresh round of questioning. The arrest, carried out on his wife’s birthday, prompted his daughter to pen an emotional heartfelt post on Instagram. In an interview with Sinar Harian last month, Najib pointed the finger at fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, for being involved in the 1MDB scandal, claiming that he was deceived.
