Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is addressing over-tourism and promoting sustainable tourism through a series of measures. These include redirecting visitors to regional areas, fostering local collaboration and adopting innovative measures to reduce congestion. But these efforts will require continuous adaptation and careful balancing of economic benefits with the wellbeing of local communities.
