Southeast Asia’s hiring outlook in 2019 is expected to remain positive as digitalization and the region’s role as an industrial hub continue to grow, according to the latest annual Salary Survey by Robert Walters, The Business Times reports. The Asian Development Bank said developing Asia is on track to meet growth expectations for this year and 2019, but warned that rising US protectionist trade measures and countermeasures from China and others pose “a clear downside risk“. Despite speculations about potential exodus of factories from China to Southeast Asian countries, US companies aren’t leaving China in a big way yet, regardless of escalating trade tensions between the two economic powerhouses, according to analysts quoted by CNBC.
