Fully vaccinated travelers from four ASEAN countries including Vietnam will have their stay-home periods cut by three days to a week upon entering Singapore from Friday. The pandemic situation in the Southeast Asia region is “fast stabilizing” and Singapore has adjusted the risk classification for more ASEAN countries, said Health Minister Ong Ye Kung on Monday, as cited by Channel News Asia. Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam will be moved from “Category 3”, deemed at higher risk of Covid-19 infection, to “Category 2”, with similar Covid-19 risk profiles to Singapore. Passengers from these countries would have to isolate for seven days at declared places of accommodation instead of the former 10 days, and present a negative PCR test result on the seventh day. Around 12,000 Vietnamese citizens live and work in Singapore. Vietnam has recorded more than 970,000 cases, with most linked to the highly-transmissible Delta variant. More than 29.3 million people in Vietnam have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
