The UN has called for calm after several Rohingya Muslims were shot and wounded in a Rakhine state camp, in a raid linked to the failed escape of more than 100 of the stateless minority from the grim settlements. Myanmar police shot and injured four Rohingya Muslims on Sunday, after detaining two men accused of smuggling people out of a camp for displaced people in western Rakhine state, a witness and police told Reuters. More than 100 fleeing Rohingya Muslim refugees have been detained on a boat off the coast of Myanmar, according to The Independent. The boat was bound for Malaysia when it was stopped by authorities early on Friday morning around 20 miles south of Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city.
