The CEO of Twitter has faced fierce criticism for promoting Myanmar as a tourist destination in a series of tweets despite hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing human rights abuses that the UN says amounts to genocide, The Guardian Reports. Just last month, during his visit to India, Dorsey upset Hindu nationalists and some members of the Brahmin caste in the country by posing for a picture with a placard reading: “Smash Brahminical patriarchy”. A United Nations fact-finding mission released in September an extensive report detailing atrocities carried out by the Myanmar military against Rohingya Muslims, in support of its call for the country’s generals to face an international tribunal on charges of genocide.
