The Southern Land Bridge project — the Thai government’s long-standing plan to build a logistics corridor linking the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea — is back on the agenda. This time, the Anutin-led administration is promoting it as an alternative shipping route for global trade. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has pointed to growing uncertainty around key maritime chokepoints, including the Strait of Hormuz, as justification for moving the project forward.
