A television ad featuring members of K-pop supergroup Blackpink dressed in miniskirts has been banned from Indonesian airwaves, prompting a furious backlash from fans. The order followed a petition signed by more than 100,000 people asking the commission to cancel the ad, Agence-France Presse reports. Shopee management has responded saying that it would adjust the broadcasting time of the commercial in order to better target audience specifically interested in an annual online shopping discount program that will be held on Dec. 12. Indonesian K-pop fans, known for their dedication, fired back on Twitter, denouncing the government’s decision and declaring the commission was acting unfairly. The group is scheduled to perform at South Tangerang on Jan. 20, 2019 as part of their first world tour, “In Your Area”.
