Singapore has moved to declare its leafy diplomatic district near the popular Orchard Road shopping belt a “special event area”, fuelling speculation that the landmark summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will take place at the Shangri-La Hotel. The planned US-North Korea summit is still about a week away but one hotel in Singapore is already getting into the mood of things. The chefs of Royal Plaza on Scotts have come together to create a Trump-Kim Burger and Summit Iced Tea which they will start serving from this Friday. Defense officials from countries around the world are worrying aloud that the June 12 US-North Korea summit may repeat failed efforts at denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.
