First the good news: the Philippines’ fertility rate has been slowing down since 1993 and is at a more manageable 1.7 children per woman in 2025, from 1.9 in 2022. This, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority, quoting the results of the latest National Demographic and Health Survey.
