The government is considering a total lockdown or a more severe implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), citing the rising number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases and violation of quarantine restrictions. In a virtual press briefing on Thursday, Palace Spokesman Harry Roque bared that the lockdown was an option if the number of Covid-19 cases does not slow down and more violators are reported during the remaining days of the Luzon-wide quarantine. President Rodrigo Duterte placed Luzon under enhanced quarantine on March 17. Several other areas in the country are enforcing a similar lockdown.
