Several senators rejected the “brand agnostic” policy of the Department of Health (DoH), saying the public deserves full transparency in the vaccine rollout. The DoH has urged local government units (LGUs) to refrain from revealing the brand of vaccines they will administer to avoid crowds at vaccination sites that have their preferred brand. “Every patient has a right to full disclosure and a modicum of transparency,” Sen. Maria Josefa Imelda “Imee” Marcos said on Thursday.

Other senators also oppose the policy. In a separate statement, DoH said “not announcing what brand will be available in inoculation sites will not take away the right of individuals to be informed of the vaccine they are taking.”
