It’s better to be Covid-19 positive because you will still be allowed to vote but not when you are wearing a shirt, face mask or hat with the face and name of a particular candidate on them, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Commissioner George Garcia on Tuesday warned that voters who wear either a t-shirt, a face mask, a hat or have a hand fan being the name or face of a particular candidate is an election offense punishable by one to six years imprisonment.”You can wear any color of shirt [whether red, green, blue or pink]. It’s not a problem but not a shirt or face mask with the face of a candidate on it. It’s a form of campaigning,” Garcia said.

“If you do that, the electoral board will throw you out of the precinct. The watchers will not also allow you to vote because it’s a form of campaigning,” he added.

He pointed out that if an election violator would insist on voting and would get into trouble with election officers inside the precinct, he or she could be charged with election offense punishable that could put one in jail to a maximum of six years. Garcia also said that one does not need a face shield, a vaccination card, a negative antigen test in order to vote but only a face mask.He added that one does not need a valid ID to vote for as long as he is a registered voter.
