Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) has been crowned Most Attractive Employer in Malaysia for 2018, according to Randstad Employer Brand Research.

Petronas climbed one spot up this year to claim the award for 2018’s Most Attractive Employer after coming in second for the previous two years.

The top three most attractive employers remain unchanged from last year – Petronas, Shell Malaysia and Nestlé (Malaysia) Bhd.

The awards are presented to the top three companies which received the highest attractiveness score in the survey that job seekers in Malaysia will want to work for.

The winners for this category are selected from the 75 largest employers in Malaysia based on local workforce size.

Randstad Malaysia country director Ryan Carroll said in the three years that the company had conducted the survey in Malaysia, more and more companies starting to evaluate and redesign their employer brand so as to enjoy the benefits it brings to their talent attraction and retention efforts.

“We would like to congratulate the winners for their consistent performance in ensuring and promoting a powerful employer brand that resonates strongly with employees in Malaysia.

“This is especially true for Malaysia where companies are constantly competing to hire, engage and retain the best people from a very limited talent pool,” he said.

As an expert in employer branding, Randstad conducts extensive research into the factors that attract potential employees to an organization.

The research analyzed the attractiveness of 5,755 companies in 30 countries, surveying more than 175,000 respondents.
