This filial piety is a cultural value deeply entrenched within our multiethnic society. Rooted in religious and historical philosophies, the tradition of caring for elders fosters a reciprocal bond of psychological strength, medical care, and overall well-being. Yet, this time-honored system has in recent years come under severe strain.
