Some 50 people calling themselves members of  the Revolutionary Islamic Community Forum (FUIR) staged a rally on Monday demanding Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan step down for allegedly turning his back on firebrand cleric Rizieq Shihab and the Muslim community following his election. Rizieq is considered as one of the key drivers behind rallies against the Christian and ethnic Chinese former governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, known as Ahok, whom they accused of insulting the Muslim holy book, the Quran. Indonesia’s National Police have sent investigators to Saudi Arabia to find Rizieq, the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front, or FPI, who is now embroiled in a pornography case and has been on the run from the police since April last year.
