Infrastructure projects Indonesia signed up as part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative are likely to be reviewed if former general Prabowo Subianto wins next year’s presidential election, his brother and campaign leader has said, South China Morning Post reports. Subianto, an outspoken economic nationalist has signaled that religion as an issue is finished and that his campaign will focus instead on the economy, Nikkei Asian Review reported, quoting his deputy, Fadli Zon. Previously in September, Subianto attended the commemoration of China’s 69th Independence Day at the Sharilla Hotel Ballroom in Jakarta. At the event, he said China was an important country for Indonesia and urged both governments to maintain a good bilateral relationship in the future.
