Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has summoned Saudi Arabia`s Deputy Ambassador on Monday following a tweet from Ambassador Osamah Muhammad Al-Suaibi that poorly attempted to link the 212 reunion rally on Sunday and the recent burning of Islamic flag, Tempo reports. In a now deleted tweet, the ambassador posted pictures of the Islamist hardliner organized rally, writing in the caption: “The act of millions of Muslims as a reaction to the burning of a flag carrying the tauhid text by a heretical organization.” It has caused major outrage, leading to calls that he resign his post and be sent home. Islamist groups and the opposition camp held a major rally marking the 2016 anti-Ahok rally in Jakarta on Sunday calling Muslims to shun political parties that backed the imprisoned former governor in the 2017 Jakarta election.
