President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo confirmed on Wednesday strict social restrictions will soon return in Java and Bali as the country again saw a new high in daily number of Covid-19 cases. There have been 21,807 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2.19 million, including 58,491 deaths. Java and Bali are home to around 70 percent of Covid-19 cases countrywide.  Jokowi said the government is committed to achieving 1 million vaccinations a day and doubling the number by August. Around 13.5 million people have been fully vaccinated as of Wednesday, according to the Health Ministry.
