A recent survey by the SMERU Research Institute published by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) confirms global findings that children raised in poverty will earn less than their more privileged counterparts. In Indonesia, this “income penalty” could see those from poor families earn 87 percent less than those raised in better off households.
