The government that has ruled this nation for the past couple of years had mentioned in its election campaign manifesto that there would be good governance and rule of law in the country. Realization of those two vital elements would be their priority, they said. Nice campaign promises, the people of Myanmar thought, but later the public realized that it was easier said than done.

Two years before the next general elections, the elected parliament created the Anti-Corruption Commission, which is supposed to bring under control the rampant corruption around the country. Since the commission was created, hundreds of complaint letters have poured in.
