Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Co (IPIC) has filed a lawsuit against US investment bank Goldman Sachs (GS.N) and others to recover losses suffered through its dealings with Malaysian state fund 1MDB, Reuters reports. Adding insult to injury, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. was downgraded by fellow broker Morgan Stanley, which cited “risks and uncertainties” surrounding the investigation into Goldman’s role in the 1MDB scandal, Market Watch confirmed. The downgrade comes after the stock had already tumbled 17% since reports surfaced that Goldman’s Chairman and former-CEO Lloyd Blankfein met with people involved in the 1MDB scandal. In an interview with CNBC earlier this month Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said that the investment bank had cheated the Malaysian people.
