In an apparent mock to the preliminary investigation by the International Criminal Court, Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte said he would rather face a firing squad than be jailed if found guilty of crimes against humanity. The Philippine human rights chief said Saturday that his agency was ready to work with the ICC as it investigates the thousands of killings carried out in President Rodrigo Duterte’s anti-drug war. Previously on Friday, Duterte ordered the cancellation of a multimillion-dollar deal to buy 16 helicopters from Canada and said purchases of U.S. arms should also be stopped because of too many imposed conditions, although he said he still supports President Donald Trump.
