Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was a no-show at three major events at the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and related summits in Singapore on Wednesday, Rappler reports. Malacañang has yet to explain the President’s absence, however Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo dismissed talk that Duterte skipped the events because of his health. The state palace previously confirmed that doctors had found tissue growth following an endoscopy procedure in October. Duterte had said he would let the public know if he had cancer. The President is required by law to inform the public if he has serious illness.
