On the 11th Anniversary of Cambodian Veterans on June 21 last year, Prime Minister Hun Sen announced a new program of cash grants to poor pregnant women, which was implemented in June of this year. The scheme is expected to cost $5 million in the first year and $7 million in the second. It is to increase to $10 million in the third. Funds will be disbursed in three phases – during pregnancy, delivery, and after birth, for babies up to two years old.
