In the first 11 months of this year, the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) has cooperated with National Police forces to educate nearly 1.2 million people about mine accidents and explosive remnants of war. CMAC director-general Heng Ratana said CMAC and National Police forces had visited almost 600,000 households to educate them about mine-related accidents.  “In collaboration with them [National Police], we have made 38 per cent more home visits this year than we did last year.We have expanded the education to new target areas such as Veal Veng [district] of Pursat province as well as Stung Treng, Preah Vihear and Tbong Khmum provinces,” he said.
