Armed Forces of the Philippines said Thursday it sought to take control of buildings in Marawi City from Maute separatists in the next 10 to 15 days. Spokesperson Restituto Padilla Jr. said about 600 buildings had not been cleared. He refused to confirm whether the military would recommend the extension of the 60-day martial law that was first enforced on May 23. Two soldiers were killed and 11 wounded earlier this week during airstrike in Marawi.
