The National Research and Innovation Agency’s (BRIN) breakthrough in using microalgae to absorb emissions could be one technological solution to mitigating the climate crisis. Global warming occurs because emissions from human activities have become excessive, diminishing the atmosphere’s capacity to absorb them. At the same time, the Earth’s ecosystems, which naturally absorb these emissions, are increasingly depleted. BRIN has developed a microalgae photobioreactor technology called Olimpus Apollo 1.0. Developed in collaboration with Alam Semesta Integra, the device, launched on October 8, 2026, will be installed along major roads, in industrial areas, public spaces, shopping centers, hotels, and office buildings. BRIN claims that in three months, the device can absorb as much carbon as 110 trees more than 15 years old. Read more at: https://en.tempo.co/read/2122650/microalgae-solutions-for-carbon-emissions  First published in Tempo
