The Indonesian foreign minister is due in Kabul on Monday for talks on the peace and reconciliation process with Afghan officials. The Indonesia embassy in Kabul confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that Retno Mudris would visit Kabul. However, it did not provide further details of the trip. In Jakarta, the foreign ministry said Mudris was expected to visit Afghanistan to discuss the peace process with Afghan officials. The Indonesian government has committed itself to play a role in supporting the reconciliation process and peace development in Afghanistan. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani paid a state visit to Indonesia on April 5and 6, 2017, to learn from Indonesia’s experience on handling conflicts and terrorism.
