Amid rumors surrounding his failing health, President Rodrigo Duterte said he will not resign to relinquish his post to his duly constituted successor, Vice President Leni Robredo, CNN Philippines reports. Duterte confirmed Thursday that he underwent a one-hour medical checkup at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center, contradicting the statements of his officials that he did not visit the said hospital amid rumors about his deteriorating health.  Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday said he might quit his post as it seemed he has not been up-to-date with some of the President’s affairs. He said the fact that he “was in the dark” about the President’s health is a sign that his time as a spokesperson is about to end.
