Pope Francis arrived in Myanmar on Monday at the start of a highly sensitive four-day trip to a country facing global condemnation over its treatment of Rohingya Muslims. On Saturday, Bangladesh and Myanmar have agreed to take help from the U.N. refugee agency to safely repatriate hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims who had fled violence in Myanmar. Meawhile, Myanmar’s civilian leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, will soon visit Beijing, state media said on Monday, as the southeast Asian nation appears to draw closer to its northern neighbor, China, amid global criticism over an exodus of Rohingya refugees.
