The chief executive of the Chinese-Indonesian conglomerate Lippo Group, James Riady, denied involvement in bribery allegations surrounding the Meikarta urban development project following nine hours of questioning by anti-graft investigators on Tuesday, Nikkei Asia Review reports. Indonesia’s anti-graft agency on Tuesday summoned Riady as a witness. The probe comes as President Joko Widodo’s record on graft comes under increased scrutiny ahead of his bid for re-election in April. According to RTI Infocom, Lippo Karawaci’s shares had weakened 6.04 percent within a week, or 19.55 percent or 64 points since early October, in line with the arrest of the company’s top executives.
