Malaysia on Wednesday moved to extradite to the United States, Ng Chong Hwa,  the former Goldman Sachs managing director embroiled in the multi-billion-dollar 1MDB scandal, even as he faces charges in the Southeast Asian country, Agence-France Presse reports. Malaysia is to pursue criminal charges against Goldman Sachs units based in the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong in connection with $6.5 billion worth of bonds the investment bank arranged for 1MDB. Goldman Sachs Group Inc’s partners showed lax oversight, leading the bank to go past warning signs in its dealings with the Malaysian fund also known as 1MDB, Wall Street Journal reported, citing internal documents and interviews with people involved in the transactions.
