A former Indonesian civil servant who left for Syria with his extended family two years ago to join the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) faces a life sentence if found guilty of terrorism charges. Dwi Djoko Wiwoho, was the director of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board’s licensing office in the Riau Islands. Dwi and his family left their home town in Batam island in 2015 to join the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terror group, according to Indonesia’s national police. Dwi’s daughter, Nurshadrina Khairadhania, 19, appeared on international media saying her family had been tricked and regretted their decision to go to Syria. She said IS’ promises on the internet had not been met.
