Cambodian police have arrested a 70-year-old barber for allegedly insulting the king, the second such case since a controversial lese majeste law was introduced earlier this year. A Cambodian school director has become the first person to be arrested on charges of insulting the monarchy after posting comments on Facebook critical of the authoritarian government. A new lèse-majesté law similar to one in Thailand that observers say has been blatantly and systematically misused to silence political dissent, will carry a one- to five-year jail term.
