Thousands of Rohingya Muslim refugees on Saturday marked the one-year anniversary of the attacks that sent them fleeing to safety in Bangladesh, praying they can return to their homes in Myanmar and demanding justice for their dead relatives and neighbors, NBC reports. Meanwhile, The Guardian reported that Rohingya in Rakhine state, where the violence took place, are locked out of healthcare, work and education. Denied citizenship cards, they must apply for government permission if they want to travel and they face daily discrimination. The Rohingya  has become the single-most pressing crisis for Myanmar. The situation has also hampered developments in the country’s other areas, including economic growth, writes Nehginpao Kipgen for Channel News Asia.
