Malaysia has issued an arrest warrant for financier Low Taek Jho, wanted for questioning in a graft probe involving former prime minister Najib Razak and state fund 1MDB, a media report and a source familiar with the matter said on Thursday. A latest statement, issued by an international law firm quoted an unnamed spokesman for Low, but omitted any information on his location, said he was ready to help the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission with its inquiries having read media reports that the agency wanted to speak to him. Low became a friend of Najib’s family through the latter’s stepson, Riza Aziz, whom he met while studying in London. Although he never had an official position in 1MDB, Low has admitted that he occasionally “consulted” with 1MDB and was involved in a number of transactions, according to the Malay Mail.
