A two-decade-old plan by Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad to build a new “crooked bridge” between his country and Singapore – much to the chagrin of the Lion City’s leaders – may be revived, a senior official in his government has said, The South China Morning reports. The Johor state government will be having a meeting with the Singapore government, which will be held either on Oct 27 or Oct 28 in Singapore. According to Malaysia Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, the meeting will also discuss the water price agreement between the two countries as Malaysia seeks to charge Singapore more than 10 times to pay off massive debts incurred under the era of former prime minister Najib Razak.
