At least 105 people are dead and more than 20,000 people are displaced in Lombok, Indonesia, following Sunday’s earthquake, according to the government’s disaster management agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, CNN reports. The death toll is expected to rise as rescue workers access more affected areas. Meanwhile, Australia’s 9 News reported that the Lombok Airport would begin to operate 24 hours a day in an attempt to clear a backlog of stranded tourists affected by the deadly earthquake, with airport officials confirming that they had negotiated with airlines to add extra flights. The number of people evacuated from nearby holiday islands of Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air has reached 4636, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
