Mount Merapi, Indonesia’s most active volcano located on the border between Central Java and Yogyakarta, erupted again on Tuesday morning, sending a massive smoke-and-ash column 6,000 meters into the sky.  The Center for Investigation and Development of Geological Disaster Technology (BPPTKG) tweeted this morning Mount Merapi’s eruption occurred at exactly 5.22 a.m. for a length of 450 seconds, with an amplitude of 75 mm. The BPPTKG also recorded hot gas clouds down Mount Merapi’s slopes toward Kali Gendol, two kilometers from the peak.
