Indonesia is studying the revised Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement reached by 11 nations after the US exited, with a view to joining the trade pact, Jusuf Kalla, the country’s vice president, said Tuesday as quoted by the Nikkei Asian Review. New Zealand sees the successor deal to the TPP entering into force this year, as it nears ratification in the country’s parliament, Trade and Export Growth Minister David Parker said on Monday. However, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad called for a review of the trade agreement, saying smaller economies like Malaysia were at a disadvantage under the current terms.
