Quoting Go-Jek co-founder and CEO, Bloomberg reported Monday that the Indonesian startup will expand to three or four countries in Southeast Asia, escalating its rivalry with Grab and Uber Technologies Inc. Makarim did not specify the countries or services that Go-Jek will target, but said they would be places with a large population and where cash rules. Makarim suggests that the company, which is Indonesia’s first startup unicorn, would also deploy its digital payment service, Go-Pay, which is already the largest of its kind in Indonesia.
