Myanmar’s detained State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi requested that her legal team help provide food for her, eight other detainees held with her and her dog, Taichido. During a court hearing in Naypyitaw on Monday, she told the legal team about her cash shortage and the need for medicines and other supplies as she and the other detainees are using their own money to buy food. When the military seized power, ousting her National League for Democracy government, she was placed under house arrest and moved into isolation in an unknown location. She told her legal team that she did not want support from those detaining her and asked the lawyers to help if possible. The junta has filed six charges against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, including two under Article 25 of the Natural Disaster Management Law and one each under Article 8 of the Export and Import Law, Article 67 of the Telecommunications Law, Article 505(b) of the Penal Code for sedition and the Official Secrets Act.
