Thailand will ban imports of 432 types of scrap electronics within six months, an environment ministry official said on Thursday, the latest country to respond to China’s crackdown on imports of high-tech trash this year, The Telegraph reports. The scourge of e-waste flowing into Thailand and other Southeast Asian nations is a direct impact of China’s dramatic decision to block waste imports, according to The ASEAN Post. Over the past two decades, China was considered the primary dumping ground for e-waste in the world. According to a WTO filing,  China plans to stop importing 24 types of foreign waste by the end of this year and that it would phase out shipments of other waste products by 2019, including those readily available from domestic sources.
